About the Role We are seeking a motivated and dependable Utility Worker to support the operation and maintenance of water production and distribution systems. This is an entry-level position that does not require a water certification and offers excellent growth opportunities through employer-sponsored training and certification programs. The successful candidate will assist with operating, maintaining, inspecting, and repairing water system infrastructure while ensuring safe and reliable water service to the community. Install, operate, and repair: Water mains Service lines Fire hydrants Water valves Pressure Reducing Valves (PRVs) Water meters Read and monitor gauges, meters, and control panels. Start and stop equipment and operate valves to control water flow. Clean vehicles, pumps, equipment, tools, and facilities. Perform routine inspections of vehicles and equipment. Conduct basic maintenance activities such as lubrication, oil changes, and greasing equipment. Maintain grounds, buildings, and facility appearance. Operate vehicles and equipment used for excavation, hauling, loading, and material handling. Assist operations and maintenance personnel with materials, supplies, and tools. Maintain operational records including pump hours, flow rates, chemical usage, and facility logs. Read and record water meter readings accurately. Participate in on-call assignments and emergency response activities as needed. Follow all safety policies and procedures. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Valid driver's license. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to work safely around water system infrastructure and equipment. Ability to perform physically demanding work in indoor and outdoor environments. Strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Ability to participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergencies. Preferred Qualifications Basic knowledge of water distribution or water production systems.
