CINEMATECH | DESIGN CONSULTANT
CinemaTech is the leader in luxury home theater and media room design. For over 25 years, they have partnered with ultra-high-net-worth estate owners, architects, interior designers, builders, and AV integrators to create world-class entertainment spaces. Their work combines interior architecture, acoustics, custom seating, integrated technology, lighting, and bespoke detailing into highly technical and beautifully executed environments.

The Designer will own the client experience for CinemaTech’s Florida showroom and East Coast market, meeting directly with clients, dealers, architects, and interior designers, earning their trust, and guiding each project from first conversation through final design and sale. Sitting at the intersection of designer, product specialist, and consultative advisor, this person will be the most senior day-to-day presence in the Florida office and is expected to take real ownership of the showroom and its clients: anticipating problems before they become problems, taking initiative, and keeping projects moving without waiting for direction. The role reports to the Design Manager and works closely with CinemaTech’s executive leadership. The ideal candidate is an experienced, mature, and polished design professional who understands how a successful business operates and is motivated to grow into a true owner of the Florida operation and client experience, not simply execute design tasks.

RESPONSIBILITIES  Client Engagement + Showroom Ownership –
  • Meet with all clients and dealers who visit the showroom; understand their needs, earn their trust, and guide them through the design process.
  • Evaluate the best course for each client (full design engagement, simple layouts, or product-led solutions) and own consistent, professional follow-up.
  • Serve as the senior day-to-day presence in the Florida office, taking ownership of the showroom, the client experience, and the market.
  • Represent CinemaTech with a clear, concise, polished, and likeable presence in front of sophisticated, high-end clients and trade partners.
Design: Concept Through Sale –
  • Take each room from concept through final design: layouts, seating, finishes, materials, and product specifications.
  • Operate CAD live during client meetings, sketching in real time to explore layouts and design direction with the client in the room.
  • Develop rough design direction in CAD and hand it off cleanly to the design team for development.
  • Fully understand the design being presented; simplify complex technical information, guide decisions, and help move clients confidently toward a commitment.
  • Once the design is complete and the project is sold, hand it over cleanly to the Project Manager for execution.
  • Translate client conversations, plans, dimensions, and site conditions into accurate, buildable design solutions.
Product Expertise –
  • Become a true specialist in CinemaTech’s products (seating, acoustics, interior systems, and integrated technology) and learn them deeply enough to confidently present, recommend, and specify.
  • Complete a substantially remote training program with self-discipline and a strong foundation, with the expectation of being up and running within approximately 90 days.
Commercial + Business Contribution –
  • Understand how the business operates and how the sales cycle works; recognize that great design work must convert into revenue.
  • Identify what needs to happen next, take initiative, follow through, and keep things moving without needing a daily list.
  • Problem-solve in the way small, high-performing businesses require: see issues early, propose solutions, and execute.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Meaningful experience in a client-facing, high-end design environment, with the maturity to operate independently as the senior person on site.
  • Working CAD proficiency is required. This person must be comfortable sketching in CAD during live client meetings and assembling rough design direction to hand off to the team.
  • Backgrounds may be creative and varied: interior design, architecture, lighting, wallcoverings, kitchens, bathrooms, closets, luxury furniture, or another premium design showroom, particularly candidates who have successfully specialized in and sold a premium design product.
  • Familiarity with high-end luxury products such as furniture, kitchen cabinetry, windows, or yachts translates well; the core skill is listening, pulling information from all parties, and delivering what the client envisioned.
  • A construction background is nice to have but not required.
  • Strong presence and communication: clear, concise, polished, and likeable, with the ability to simplify complex information and earn the confidence of high-end clients.
  • Business-minded problem solver with an understanding of how businesses operate and how design converts to revenue; direct sales experience is not required.
  • Self-directed, proactive, smart, hungry, and humble; understands the objective, figures out what needs to happen next, and executes. –
  • Comfortable working closely with executive leadership at a fast pace without constant direction.
  • Management or leadership experience is a plus.
  • Audio/video, acoustics, media room, or technology-driven residential experience is a plus, not a prerequisite.
LOCATION + TRAVEL
  • Based in South Florida (Miami through Jupiter) or the West Coast of Florida (Naples through Fort Myers). –
  • West Coast based candidates must be comfortable commuting to the East Coast approximately 2-3 times per week as needed for showroom, client meetings, and projects; work from home otherwise.
